Old Rustemberg Rd
A fertile, citrus-producing area irrigated by the waters of the Hartebeespoort Dam.To the South of Brits, beneath a karee tree, the armistice treaty of the Boer Civil War was signed in 1864 and, nearby De Wildt station, a famous speech by General Hertzog in 1912 led to the formation of the National Party.Founded in 1924 on the farm Roode Kopjes, it was named for the owner Gert Brits.

For the ideal selfdrive route start at the World Heritage Site of Stekfontein Caves and continue onto Hartbeespoort Dam, Rustenburg Nature Reserve, Pilanesberg and Sun City.
Travel to Hartebeespoort Dam (From JHB take the N1 direction Roodepoort, turn off at William Nicol Rd and turn right over the freeway. Travel past Monte Cassino and Dainfern CC and pass underneath the R28 Highway (at Diepsloot), turn left (Hennops River Rd) on to the R511 (Big Sun City sign). Pass over the dam wall to the 4 way stop and turn right. About 3/5 km down the road the golf course is on your left.
(DO NOT GO TO BRITS - THE COURSE IS 15 KMS OUTSIDE TOWN). Alternatively, take the Lanseria road (R512) from Sandton, turn left at the T-junction (R512/R104), turn right just past Pecanwood CC (direction Brits) and cross over the western side of the dam. At the T-junction, turn right (direction Brits) on to the R560 and continue straight over the 4-way stop to find the club about 4 km down the road on the left.
