Pearl Valley is the latest addition to the Jack Nicklaus’s repertoire of signature-designed courses worldwide. The Pearl Valley Golf Estate is surrounded by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains and bordered by vineyards with The Berg River water hazard running through it! Nicklaus’s has stayed true to his design principles by working closely with nature and has provided a golf course that fits in with the environment.
This fairly flat and largely uninterrupted terrain enabled Nicklaus’s the freedom to develop hole strategies making this a golf course the golfer has to think his/her way around. In its engineering and planning detail, the course is very rare. It is crossed by roads in only three places, and the drainage system allows play to continue just minutes after a severe cloudburst.

Nestled on the foot of the Helderberg Mountains in the heart of the famous Stellenbosch Winelands. A championship Golf Course which played hosts for the SA Open and Master a few years ago. A championship course in a parkland setting surrounded by mountains and vineyards.
Scenic and in excellent condition, Stellenbosch presents a fair challenge with some memorable holes. The stroke index 1 hole does not give up par easily. To reach this par four in two you need a long drive followed by an approach over some out-of-bounds vineyards to an elevated green.

The Worcester Golf Club is situated at the start of the Western Cape’s Klein Karoo, approximately 50 minutes from Cape Town en route to Oudtshoorn and the Garden Route. The course was designed by Peter Matkovich, at that time in partnership with Gary Player. The championship course is situated in the foothills of the Brandwacht Mountains with a panoramic view of Worcester and the Breede River Valley.
Gary has described the site as one of the finest in the world. The rugged natural beauty of the Karoo has been enhanced by indigenous trees, dams and watercourses. A combination of biosphere, parklands and links, Worcester is a challenging course, which rewards daring shots but can severely punish bad ones. The large bent grass greens were built and are maintained to the highest standards. Accurately placed aloes and boulders act as markers measuring the distances to the greens. |
