Near the mouth at the southern end of the estuary is The Island. Great Brak Island is connected to the eastern shore of the Great Brak River with a single lane steel bridge. Many holiday homes of timber frame structure are situated in or around the Estuary. It makes for a peaceful getaway at any time of the year, but close enough to major towns and many attractions and activities.
